Katie Price fans caused chaos at a WHSmith store during the glamour model’s latest book signing.
Police were called in to control the growing crowds as up to 2,000 fans flooded inside to meet the 31-year-old.
Hundreds of books were knocked to the floor as eager fans, many of whom had been waiting up to nine hours, crammed inside the store in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear.

She arrived alone for the signing of her new book Standing Out, fuelling speculation that she has split from new boyfriend Alex Reid.
Meanwhile, Katie’s mother has waded into the row between her daughter and former husband Peter Andre, accusing the singer of being ‘manipulative, moody and verbally aggressive’.
Amy, 56, claimed that Peter has been putting on an act in public and had failed to support Katie when she suffered a miscarriage earlier this year.
‘I‘m so angry and somebody has to start sticking up for Kate,’ she told The Mirror.
‘As much as I don’t want to say anything, people have to hear the truth.’
Amy says that her son-in-law was emotionally cold to Katie after she lost their unborn baby.
‘I was with Kate when she was having the miscarriage and the doctor said, “I’m sorry Kate, it’s not there. It’s not forming. It’s dead. There’s no heartbeat.” It was so upsetting.

‘But as far as Pete was concerned, he was like, “Come on, it’s happened. You have to move on.” You could see that when they filmed the London Marathon immediately afterwards for ITV, he didn’t seem to give two s**** about her.
‘He’s a great actor and can turn it on and off. When filming was on, he was always quite bubbly, but I have seen Peter when he’s on one of his lows, especially when he’s manipulative, moody and verbally aggressive.’
However Amy says she is sad that relations between the pair have deteriorated so badly and hopes that they can put their differences aside for the sake of the children.
‘It’s a sad thing because it’s the end of what they both wanted,’ she said. ‘But the fact it’s being played out in the public eye is the most distressing thing.
‘The mudslinging has got so bad that it has to stop. The only people benefiting are the lawyers.
‘All they need to do is pick up the phone – but he’s refusing to talk to her, so it’s hopeless.’
Amy spoke out as speculation mounted that Katie has split from boyfriend Alex.

The couple have spent the last few days apart, with Alex even moving temporarily back in with his mother after Katie told him she ‘needed space’.
Yesterday he is said to have tearfully begged her to take him back after a night out alone where he made a personal appearance at a nightclub in Margate and cosied up to Jordan lookalikes.
The cage-fighter had been conspicuously absent as she appeared at an earlier signing in Newcastle on Saturday.
Without Katie by his side, Alex was soon swamped by young women.
And the smiling 27-year-old was more than happy to oblige as they wrapped their arms around him to pose for photos, and asked him to sign body parts.
One blonde seemed particularly keen – and the 23-year-old’s name was aptly Rebecca Jordan.
Sources say Katie kicked Alex out of her home after a series of rows between the pair.
Yesterday they met for crisis talks at her home in Woldingham, Surrey.

A friend told The Sun: ‘Katie likes Alex but she doesn’t love him. She is also sick to death of his past secrets.’
They added: ‘But she also does not want to be single – she can’t stand it and she needs someone to constantly be there for her.’
‘Alex was very upset. She has told him they’ll work at the relationship, but he needs to slow down.’
Last week Katie and ex-husband Peter Andre’s marriage formally ended, with their divorce made final on Thursday.
Relatives fear she has yet to deal emotionally with the break-up.
A source told the Sunday Mirror: ‘She’s been crying hysterically on and off all week. When the divorce was finalised it really hit her hard.
‘Alex was trying to comfort her but every time he tried to cuddle her she’d snap “Get away from me”. He yelled back “You’re clearly not over Pete.”
‘She told him it would be best if he gave her a few days space.’
In the early hours of yesterday morning Alex arrived for his personal appearance with a group of his friends in a pink Hummer.
He took to the nightclub stage at 2am.

After lapping up the attention he left at around 4am and was dropped off at Katie’s Sussex home.
While Katie was working on Saturday, singer Peter had the children. He was pictured playing with daughter Princess, as the two smelt his soon-to-be-released women’s perfume Unconditional.
Patrick Swayze was a heartthrob for millions after his roles in Ghost and Dirty Dancing brought him to the silver screen. His good looks and simmering performances endeared him to all, but he unfortunately died on Monday aged just 57.
His publicist informed fans and media alike that he died of pancreatic cancer after an almost two year battle.
Swayze’s physician, Dr George Fisher confirmed in March 2008 that the movie star had the disease. He released a statement Monday after the event.
“Patrick Swayze passed away peacefully today, surrounded by family and friends.”
Swayze will always be remembered for his starring role as snake-hipped Johnny Castle in the 1987 blockbuster Dirty Dancing. The role that confirmed his place as the romantic lead of the nineties.
He was a trained dancer, who could also act, but wasn’t the first choice for the role. His performance went on to earn him award nominations and a place in the hearts, and bedroom walls of millions of girls around the world.
Despite his fame, the 57 year old actor avoided publicity where he could and preferred to live the quiet life on his ranch in California with his wife of 34 years Lisa. This attitude was displayed both at work and at home,
He once said: “It’s the cult movies that gave me a career for the last 30 years. It wouldn’t have been worth it if I had been stuck as the leading man or the dance guy.”
He was born Patrick Wayne Swayze in Houston Texas in 1952. Son of a choreographer and engineer. He was a natural at sports and actively participated in ice skating, acting as well as ballet. He went on to study gymnastics, then moved to the Harkness and Joffrey ballet school in New York in 1972.
His first professional dancing job was with Disney, where he played Prince Charming in Disney on Parade before going on to feature in the Broadway version of Grease.
His first movie role was as Ace Johnson in a roller skating movie called Skatetown USA in 1979. His rise to fame began when he secured a role in The Outsiders with Rob Lowe in 1983. This movie saw the birth of the brat pack, and also starred Tom Cruise, Emilio Estevez and Matt Dillon.
Swayze then hit our TV screens in the excellent North and South which received critical acclaim, and went on to be one of the most successful TV mini-series of all time.
It wasn’t until 1987 that his career was well and truly launched as he arrived on our screens as the dance instructor Johnny Castle. This low budget movie was only envisaged for a short cinema run but became a global phenomenon that took everyone by surprise. He received a Golden Globe nomination and a number 3 single on the US Billboard Chart for the song “She’s Like The Wind” which he sang and featured in the movie.
Swayze will be sadly missed by family, friends and fans alike.
